The last two years, Kristen has made Ken homemade cherry chocolates for Christmas. He loves them. It’s a huge, sticky, messy job for her. And this year, she had to drive an hour away to even find the dipping chocolate to make them. It’s a gift of love. He rations them, and eats one a day -he’s become his father. Today, he was sad to announce that there’s just one left. Weren’t there four boxes? Hmmmm . . . . maybe he hasn’t become his father.
Cherry chocolates sound really good right now! Will Kristen make me some? I'm sorry for Ken that they are all gone :(
ReplyDeleteWOW!! She makes real cherry chocolates?!? That's impressive. Add one more thing to her ever-growing repertoire....
ReplyDeleteThat IS a sad day for Papa. I love the fact that he just eats one(?) a day. :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I haven't even read this post yet but I HAD to say I LOVE the look of your blog!!!! I LOVE the piture in the header most of all! What a beautifully peaceful place to come!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL to Michelle's "one(?)" comment! Really the dirty little secret behind this gift is that I am just grateful to have something that I can give to him that I know that he will enjoy. You know how hard it is to find the right gift for dad. Really, it is just the result of an uncreative mind! :) Mom, please remind dad that his birthday is coming up! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that is so cool she MAKES those! It is sad that there's only one left....but like she said, good thing he has a birthday soon! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so sad. Lu is so amazing to make those, I'll bet it's not an easy feat.
ReplyDeleteI came here hoping to see pictures of your favorite places in your house etc. When do I get to see them? :)
