Matchmaker, Matchmaker!

This is a good story.  I'm excited to tell  it. It falls in the category of I've done at least one good thing in this life.  Ya, it's that good.
You may remember a post I did last January about our New Year's eve in South Jordon with the Princes.  Brian and Michelle were there and we were alone, so the Prince family graciously invited us to spend New Year's with their family.  So we drove up and partied with them.  We had fun with Gary and Cynthia, Brian and Michelle, and Matthew.  Matthew is Brian's younger brother and is just the nicest, funniest guy.  He was on his mission when Michelle and Brian got married in 2007, but we've been with the family many times since, and were even there for his mission homecoming party.  In talking, he said he was open to being "set up" on a date (so maybe he wouldn't have to kiss Cassie, the dog at midnight this year!)
Among others, I suggested he date a past voice student of mine- Aubrey Peacock.  I knew she graduated from SUU in accounting  in December and just accepted a job in SLC and was moving up there the next day.  Her dad and Ken are business partners, and she worked for the firm, and so I had just visited with her at the firm Christmas party a few weeks earlier.  So Ken called Morris- her dad- and got her cell number and Matthew wasted no time in contacting her.  They went out for the first time the next weekend.  They hit it off, and as they say, the rest is history.   Matthew and Aubrey were married on July 28th in the St. George Temple.  They were gracious to invite us to share the happy day with them.  It was a privilege to be there.  Aren't they cute?

At the luncheon, they presented us with Mathchmaker #1 medals and told the story.
Mathhew, with Brian providing harmony and accompanying on the guitar, sang "Then," a beautiful song to Aubrey.  It was a highlight for me.  All of the Prince boys are excellent singers/ musicians.
Us with our medals.
Jaron, all ready for the reception
Gabbi getting her shoes on.
Gabbi had fun dancing with her cousins at the reception.
So, like I say, I think we've done one good thing in this life.  Matthew and Aubrey seem so happy.  I am so glad they let us be part of all of the festivities.  It was a beautiful day.  So, if you need to be set up with someone- we seem to be on a roll!  (Can ONE be considered a "roll?") "Matchmaker, matchmaker . . .!"

I Cry on the Day I Put the Sippy Cups Away

The house is all cleaned and back in order and  the sippy cups and plastic bowls put away.  It's nice to have peace and order again after a full month of family revelry.  So why am I crying?
I took Kristen and kids to Las Vegas yesterday to fly back home, and now it's just us again.  I have 668 new pictures that I just downloaded, so I have a lot to blog.  My heart is full of gratitude for a wonderful family who love to be together. We had a few moments of fighting and biting (among the grandkids, not the parents!), but we mostly had a great time.  Thank you everyone for your sacrifices to be together.  Nothing makes me happier!
